Goal: To develop a playful yet effective 2D advertisement that aligns with Primaloft’s existing brand aesthetics.

 

Challenge

The core challenge was to seamlessly combine 2D animation with real-life footage, requiring precise tracking and rotoscope techniques. The project demanded high levels of creativity and technical skill to represent the brand’s range of footwear accurately.

 

Role and Responsibilities

Sean was an integral part of the team, he was tasked with:

  • 2D Animation Concept
  • Adapting and Enhancing 2D Animation Designs
  • Footage Tracking and Rotoscope Techniques
  • Creative Animation Strategy

 

Strategy

The campaign adopted a two-pronged approach. First, tracking marks were added to a PRIMALOFT shoe as a reference for the 2D animation. Second, the animation was meticulously planned to transition between shoe models seamlessly. The goal was to generate a harmonious blend of animated elements with real-life footage of an actor wearing the shoes.

 

Tools and Technologies

  • Software: After Effects for primary animation sequences and ToonBoom for transition parts
  • Techniques: Footage tracking, rotoscope techniques to overlay animation on existing video

 

Results

The project culminated in a high-quality 2D advertisement that not only showcased the PRIMALOFT footwear line effectively but also demonstrated our capabilities in creative marketing campaigns. The final output was a testament to our ability to integrate diverse animation techniques to achieve a cohesive and engaging visual narrative.
