Stage Design

Virtual EXPO 2022

Client: IQOS

Parent Agency: Capture Media GmbH

Objective: To create a virtual EXPO for IQOS product brands, viewable in Virtual Reality.

Challenge

Our task was to conceptualize and build a cohesive, branded, virtual space for IQOS’s EXPO 2022 event. The EXPO was to feature IQOS’s key product brands like ILUMA TEREA, FIIT, BONDS, LIL, ORIGINALS, and HEETS. The challenge lay in adhering to IQOS’s brand guidelines while creating immersive, themed stages for each product line.

Role and Responsibilities

As part of the design and development team, Sean’s responsibilities included:

  • Virtual Stage Design
  • Branding & Brand Identity
  • Virtual Reality Integration
  • Storyboarding & Conceptualization

Strategy

We initiated the process with comprehensive storyboards to establish the flow between the different virtual stages. We then worked extensively with IQOS’s CI guide to not only incorporate their color palette and fonts but also to understand how their architectural space and shapes were used for product presentations. Our design strategy employed organic and fluid shapes, as well as repeated, layered forms.

Tools and Technologies

  • Software: Blender (for main design process), VR Export Tools
  • Concepts: Virtual Reality, Branding, Stage Design, Brand Identity

Results

The project culminated in an engaging, branded virtual EXPO that seamlessly blended product displays with thematic stages. The Virtual Reality integration offered an immersive experience, enhancing IQOS’s brand identity and providing a novel way to showcase their product lines.
